The Vegetation Engine

The Vegetation Engine is a set of vegetation shaders and tools designed to unify any vegetation asset from the Unity Asset Store, Megascans, Speedtree, Tree Creator, and more, or custom vegetation made by your team. It supports wind motion, interaction, seasons, wetness, and more shading features.

You can use the Vegetation Engine's shaders for your vegetation and render them on your terrain with Nature Renderer.

Setup

Follow these steps to set up Nature Renderer and The Vegetation Engine:

  1. Open the Shader Settings for The Vegetation Engine (Window > BOXOPHOBIC > TVE > Shader Settings).
  2. Select "Nature Renderer (Procedural Instancing)" in the Render Engine Support field and click Install.

  3. Use any of The Vegetation Engine's shaders for your detail objects. Nature Renderer will automatically render them correctly on your terrain.
